This marks the fourth straight week that the Knights have found themselves in the Top 25. This year’s appearance in the polls is the first since UCF’s 2013 season, which ended in a Fiesta Bowl victory and a final ranking of 10th in the nation.
This season, the Knights have started 6-0 with wins over FIU, Maryland, Memphis, Cincinnati, ECU and most recently on the road at Navy. UCF won 31-21 to snap the Midshipmen’s nation-leading 17-game regular season home winning streak on Saturday.
UCF leads the nation in scoring offense, averaging 47.3 points per game and is one of just six teams in all of FBS to rank in the Top 16 in both scoring offense and scoring defense (Alabama, Ohio State, TCU, Notre Dame, Penn State).
War on I-4 rival USF is just above the Knights in the most recent AP Poll, coming in at 17th. The Bulls are 14th in the Coaches Poll. Memphis moved up one spot in the AP Poll to 24th, and is receiving votes in the Coaches Poll. Navy is also receiving votes in the Coaches Poll.
UCF will return home this weekend to host Austin Peay. The Knights and the Governors are scheduled for a 5 p.m. kickoff on ESPN3.
