ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – The 2018-19 non-conference schedule continues to round itself out this summer, as the Knights announced Tuesday they will host Illinois State in the first game of a home-and-home series Dec. 21, 2018 at CFE Arena.
The game between the Knights and the Redbirds will be a rematch from two seasons ago, when UCF traveled to Normal, Ill., for the Second Round of the National Invitation Tournament.
After defeating Colorado at CFE Arena in the First Round of the NIT, UCF took out top-seed Illinois State 63-62, snapping the Redbirds’ 22-game home winning streak. The Knights overcame a 18-point deficit and sealed the victory when B.J. Taylor hit two free throws with one second remaining.
Following this December’s contest against Illinois State in Orlando, UCF will make a return trip to Normal during the 2019-20 season.
UCF previously announced a home game against Alabama, scheduled for Nov. 29. The Knights will also compete in the inaugural Myrtle Beach Invitational Nov. 15-18. The entire UCF schedule will be released at a later date.
